Our Focus Sectors
AGRIFOODS AND NUTRITION
The lack of food security, has a direct impact on the hospitality sector, as it affects both the cost of food supplies and accessibility of food choices. To build a robust agricultural sector and enhance food security, new agricultural techniques/technologies are needed to improve agricultural yields, enhance the food value chain, increase food accessibility, reduce food costs and improve agricultural resiliency. At Shift360, we are looking at new innovative agricultural technologies that will benefit the hospitality sector.
SKILLS AND EDUCATION
With more than 40% of the population aged below 25, there is a high demand for education services in Cambodia, especially as more and more Cambodians recognize the importance of getting an education to increase their employability and earn higher wages in the future. Skills shortage is often cited as the biggest challenge for investors in Cambodia, with the need for qualifications and training increasing every year. We seek to work alongside the private sector to identify their business education needs, creating market-based education solutions that increase staff capacity and development.
HOSPITALITY & TOURISM
As the second largest economic sector, Tourism is undoubtedly a key driver of Cambodia’s economy and is therefore positioned to play a major role in Cambodia’s continued economic development, contributing significantly to social and employment outcomes, particularly with respect to poverty alleviation. At Shift360, the Academy of Culinary Arts (ACAC), our flagship project has been an effective model in creating social inclusion, enhancing skills development and improving income levels. We seek to replicate this model but also to expand our hospitality footprint by identifying market based solutions to improve the skills development, increase income levels and create dignified employment for women and youth.
